Inspired by Keith Haring, in 2003 I furtively painted citizens of the Los Angeles Homeless District. I posted several acrylic  paintings throughout the neighborhood,  with the intention of transforming the dilapidated district into a sort of  secret popUp gallery - hiding in plain sight. When I discovered that many paintings had been 'liberated' within hours, I inscribed the images with messages of empowerment for the displaced art collectors to carry with them.
